Welcome to CH2A

The Canadian Historical Aircraft Association‚ CH2A‚ was officially incorporated as a non-profit organization in March, 1995 with a mission statement of "To Honour Canadian Veterans by Preserving, Maintaining, Restoring, Displaying‚ and Demonstrating antique or vintage military and civilian aircraft considered important to Canadian aviation history”.  In striving to meet our objectives we have to date accomplished the following:

a.               we own and operate out of a WW2 hangar built at the Windsor airport in 1941 to house #7 Elementary Flying Training School‚ part of the British Commonwealth Air Training Plan.

"Through the generosity of the Trillium Foundation we have been able to place a new hangar door, while still retaining the original hangar doors".

b.               we own a 1941 Boeing Stearman and two DeHavilland Chipmunks which we actively fly and maintain,plus a T33 jet for static display;

c.               we have agreements to fly and demonstrate a 1936 Fleet Fawn and a J-3 Cub which are privately owned;

d.               we are building a WW2 DeHavilland Mosquito Bomber literally from scratch, and hope to start putting the pieces together in 2003;

e.               We maintain the City of Windsors Lancaster,to be restored and placed in a Museum.

f.                 we have demonstrated and flown our aircraft in a number of air displays, parades and open house days over the past two years.

At the present time we have 150+ active members working at the various projects and have plans to eventually construct a NEW MUSEUM
to house our present aircraft and others that we hope to acquire.  A new building would also accommodate a military library, archive, display area and gift shop.  The building would be open to the public on a continual basis and become another major tourist attraction for the
Windsor and Essex County area.

We have accomplished a great deal over the past few years and look forward to even greater things to come.
